My name is David Brooks. I run Our Interior Guide on my own. Every review and guide here comes from me, so the word I always means one person.
Why I Started This Site
Over the years, the same questions kept coming back. Clients asked which materials hold up and which product listings overstate their size. Most of my answers stayed in private conversations.
That advice needed a home. Our Interior Guide is where I now publish it, one product and one room at a time.
My Background
Since 2019, I have worked with clients from several countries on interior advice and research. The projects ranged from real estate to sourcing materials from suppliers.
That work taught me to compare suppliers, read product specifications, and spot listings that overstate what a product delivers.
How I Review Products
Each review follows the same steps:
- Compare the listed size, weight, and materials with similar products.
- Read customer reviews for repeat complaints, not single opinions.
- Check the seller’s track record with complaints and refunds.
- Compare the price with similar products from other sellers.
- Read the return policy and warranty terms.
- Judge material and build claims against what I have seen from suppliers.
Most guides rest on research, not hands-on testing. Each post says so in the first paragraph and carries the label Researched, not tested.
When I test a product myself, the post says so and shows my own photos.
What Every Review Includes
- Strengths: what the product does well
- Weaknesses: where it falls short
- Verdict: buy, wait, or skip, with the reason
- Price and the date I checked it
- The type of home or room it suits best
